Manos Del Uruguay
Manos del Uruguay began in 1968, when a group of people visualized the potential of the production and commercialization of high quality woollen garments made by crafts women throughout isolated areas of Uruguay.
Manos was established with a very clear objective: to give support to Uruguayan craftswomen acting as a net of social promotion all along the country. Its purpose was and is the economic, social and cultural development of its members and the environment in which they live.
Various Cooperatives began functioning in different areas of Uruguay. Having the support of the central offices at Montevideo, they were in charge of producing garments that were later commercialized in the capital, Montevideo.
